March 31, 2014

Well this is just crazy because next week is tranfers again and this one has gone by really fast.

With all the excitment this tranfer it has been crazy and now I really don't know if I will be staying in Bratislava. I really want to, but the Lord has a plan for me and I know he will put me where he needs me most, even if I wouldn't be able to see it at first.

This week was great we had 2 exchanges one with another companionship and another with the Zone Leaders. They were great on the monday we found a mom that at first I didn't think she would have interest. We told her what our message was about and she had interest. Elder Jardine, which is the name of the elder that I was with, had me write down what I had said after the contact. So I wrote down. At first I didn't think she would have interest, but then she did. However, she didnt come to church sunday and we called last night and we were talking with her and then the call was dropped, we dont know if it was her or not so we will be calling her back later today or tomorrow to see.

On Thursday me and Elder Barbar, who is from Saint George, Utah and is headed home after this next transfer, were on an exchange. He is one of the Zone Leaders. We talked to some amazing people and we got three numbers and one of them set up with us. Her name is Soňa, she reads Lord of the Rings and is interested in our message we will be meeting with her on sunday. the other two numbers were of a father and his family, and a young man who's parents said no when he told them he wanted to meet with us. Unfortunately he is still a teenagers and we would have had to have his parents permission to teach him anyways and baptize him so hopefully down the road he will get another chance.

Elder Lamb and I also had a lunch lesson with a muslim and his friends. This man is great and he is just wanting what is best for his family. He told us last lesson that he just wants to be a really good father, and he is doing his best. He is such a great man and so willing to meet. We meet with him one on one and had a second lesson with him. He loves the missionaries and has paid for us to have salmon which is way expensive over here and he gave us a free meal at his work while we taught him. It was good. He is so ready, but we need to get permission to teach him more because he is muslim and even though the group he is a part of is not a strict group we still need permission from President McConkie. I hope he progresses and is baptized he is such a great man.

This next week is my last one of this tranfer and to be honest I would be perfectly fine with keeping everything the same this next transfer. Place and Companion and all. We havent been able to teach much together but I have learned a lot from him.

Anyways thanks for all the support. I hope all is well and everything is good.

Mar 24,2014

Dont your judge the spelling.... I have been away from studying english for a while... :)

Anyways, This week have been a great week, we have done some exchanges and I have been able to get to know some of the missionaries here.

We had a great lesson with a less active. This man is amazing. His name is Tomas. He is a concert pianist and is professional. He performs in all kinds of places like austrialia and slovakia. He is a very busy man and plays the piano at a evanjelik church. He hasent been able to come to church for a long time because of the contract that he has with that church, but it ends in june or sometime like that and then he said he will be coming back to our church, because "it just makes sense." He is so awesome.

We challenged him to start reading the Book of Mormon again and he has been teaching us about what he has read ever since. It was an amazing lesson with him because he was teaching us about the angel that showed nefi what his fathers vision of the tree of life ment. It was so cool to just see how everything clicked in his head as he taught us about what the vision ment. This man is amazing.

We are also having a Easter Concert, were we will be singing songs about the Savior and his love and that glorious day, and he has offered to play in it, he also has a friend coming that plays the violin, it will be so great. I am so excited.

We also had a man that we contacted and as soon as we said we have a message about Christ and the Book of Mormon he said great where can we go. So we taught him a lesson in the building just down the road. It was a great lesson to, we are now trying to work with him but he is busy a lot of the time.

So in other words this week has been so great. It has been hard, but the Lord has deffinitly blessed us a lot, and that is what we need to look for. The sacrifice, will bring for the blessings of heaven, after all the Lord has promised many things.

Just a thought, if you are readying this and are wondering if you want to go on a mission, I would suggest the talk by Elder Carlos E. Asay,
The Blessings of Sharing the Gospel - Ensign Oct. 1985 - ensign It is a great talk and I know it has so much information in it that will help you even if you are not trying to make that choice, read it, its a good one.

and with that I am out from a cloudy day in Bratislava,

Well here we are again, you sitting at your computer or phone or I pad or whatever it is and me sitting half way across the world typing this. I must apologize in advance for any spelling mistakes I am often speaking another language, well at least trying to, so my English spelling.... .... .... well its not the best right now. :)
Anyways, How has your day been? Week? I hope it has been great.

This week I learned a lot in the fact that when it rains and is cold outside, people may not want to stop and talk with you for to long, so you go tracting and get into appartment building where you can knock on doors, on the inside of a building, and not be in the cold, Cool concept huh?

Elder Lamb is feeling a lot better and is now out all day every day, we talk brakes of course but he is doing well and going strong.

We had a meeting with a Lady that just wanted to convince us that we were wrong and that we were doomed... We talked with her and in the end She said she would read the book of Mormon and pray about it. In other words if she wants to really know and is willing to change if she gets an answer then she will know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the kingdom of God once again here on the Earth.

Me and Elder Roosendaal went out once last time this week and we were contacting in Slovak and ended up teaching a man on a bench, It was an amazing lesson, in slovak until we get to the bench then it was just in English, but we still got to teach him of the Book of Mormon and he took a copy said he would read it, pray about it, and give us a call. He studies in Prague but he lives here on weekends or something like that.

This week has been a great week I have really learned how much I will grow as long as I am willing. A mission is a time for change and to figure out who you are, and that's just what I am doing. One needs to be open and willing to change though.

I know that this church is true, without any shadow of a doubt, but I am still learning and growing, I am still trying my best, and the Lord, he is still listening to me. I know he loves each one of us, He loves us so much that he is willing to help us change, because while we see life in terms of today and tomorrow, he sees it in terms of Eternity. He loves us all thats why he asks us to change and be better.

I know this to be true, v mene moj Spasitel a Vykupitel, Ježiš Kristus Amen

Ako sa maš?
I hope you are great because today is a great day. This week has been great, my companions surgery went well and I got to spend some time with my mission president because of it. My Companian is now stuck at home not aloud to go out, but he is only a little sore from the surgery. He will be up and running in no time.
This week has been a lot of preparing and now I only have about 5 hours outside. I am going on splits each day with another companionship and we are finding people. We found one man yesterday that is from india, but grow up in france. He is so cool and open. we met with him today and it was quite interesting because I was with a new missionary so there is me who has only been out for a transfer and then there is him who has only been out for a month. We taught it and Elder Roosendal bore his testimony and it was way awesome. That lesson was in english and he wants to learn more.
Tonight we have another lesson in slovak that it will still be me and the new missionary, I am nervous, but we have a member that speaks english and slovak and the man understands some english so we will try our best and the Lord will make up the rest.
This week has been great though with Elder Lamb inside he is calling people and setting up meetings and we are going out and teaching while we find Finding while we teach.
Hope all is well in good old US of A

so ya ummmmmmm.............. funny story.... we were making halusky this past week and we had to drain the dumplings, so I grabbed a couple cloths and started to drain it right...... I guess I had also desided that I wanted to be a fire bender because the rags caught on fire and then it got my hand pritty good. we took care of it and all but the next day I called Sister McConkie and she said that I should go to the hospital so I did and they gave me some cream and told me to put it on every morning and rap it up. so I have been you want to see how they look?
day one after the visit

day 3

Well Good day to you to,

I just wanted to let everyone know that this week has been a good week but I am excited for when I can start going out all day with Elder Lamb again.

He is recovering great and another Elder has let him barrow a romote controlled hellicopter that his girlfriend sent him so he is happy.

I get to go out for at least 3 to 4 hours each day, some more some less, but me and Elder LAmb have had some time to get to know each other better.

Everything is going great we talked to a lot of people and had a lot of lessons, Elder Roosendaal (Greeny) and I went out monday, and then Friday together and we got a number from a guy that lived in the United States for 4 summers selling door to door. He stopped us and was like you guys are mormons, and we talked a bit. during those summers he stayed with a family of members and the dad of the family was a bishop. It was really cool to hear and now we are going to be setting up a meeting with him this week I can't wait. It will be so awesome.

This week has been great I love the extra study but I really want to go out and teach and go, We have two more lessons tonight so me and Elder Roosendaal will be teaching together again. I cant wait Greeny powers unite with Heavenly Fathers Help we can do anything even speak a different language.

Thank you for all the prayers and support.

I miss you all,

Hope you have a great week

and remember when life gets to hard to stand, kneel.
